Gloucestershire County Council will send you a letter, regarding Reception 2027 admission.
You will need to apply to your home Local Authority and will be required to state all your school preferences, including those that are not within your County on the one form.

For children starting Reception in September 2027, the national deadline to submit your primary school application to your local council is 15 January 2027. National Offer Day, when you will receive your school placement decision, is 16 April 2027.
If you live in or around Cheltenham, your local education authority is Gloucestershire County Council. Their key dates for the 2027/2028 primary intake include:

Where to Apply: All applications must be submitted online through the Gloucestershire County Council Primary School Admissions portal.

Who is eligible: Children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.

Deferred Entry: If your child was born between 1 April 2023 and 31 August 2023 (a 'summer-born' child), you can request to delay their Reception start until September 2028. However, you must still submit your application for the 2027 intake by the 15 January 2027 deadline to secure your place in the system.
