Week at a glance

Dear Parents,

 

Please see below week at a glance, 9-13 February 2026.

 

We have a vacancy in the school office for an administrator, 8.30-12noon Mon-Fri, if you would like to apply please complete the application on our website https://www.stjamescofeprimary-dgat.co.uk/vacancies

 

Due to the poor weather, the field is muddy, and we ask that children bring in a spare pair of shoes or trainers, for the remainder of term, to enable them to change shoes.

If your child is a member of cross country club, please ensure they have spare set of clothing, a towel and spare shoes on a Friday for 8am session. 

 

Last day of term is 13 February, 3pm pick up. We have an inset day on 23 February and school will be closed, children return to school on Tuesday 24 February.

 

Monday 9th-

  • Year 4 Times tables workshop for parents, come along 8.50am, see seperate email for further information

  • Year 1 Forest school starts-Forest School sessions 9 February, 9 March, 16 March, 23 March. Make sure wellies and warm waterproof coat are in school.

Tuesday 10th-

  • Safer Internet Day Assembly (children only)

Wednesday 11th-

  • PTA Mufti Day 3 (of 6)-Non uniform-Donate online to PTA

Thursday 12th-

  • PTA Valentine Cake Sale (2 of 3) @ 3 pm on Junior Playground

Friday 13th -

  • Launch World Book Day 'Book in a Shoebox' Competition

  • Last day of term 3-3pm pick up

Other information-

  • "Book in a Shoebox" (or "Story in a Box") is where children can create a 3D scene from their favourite book inside a decorated shoebox.  It involves using craft materials, figures, and scenery to bring a scene to life, showcasing creativity and a love for reading. Your child would make this at home, and bring in the decorated shoe box on 5 March. 

  • World Book day-Thursday 5 March-Wear pyjamas/onesie/dress up to snuggle up and read a story. Bring in favourite book to share. Bring in ‘Book in a Shoe Box’ entry. If children want to dress up as a book character, they are able to do so, however, this is optional.

  • Attached leaflet for activities at the Museum of Gloucester during February holiday

  • A reminder that you are not allowed to drive into school at any time, unless you are authorised by school to park in the disabled spaces. Do not park in staff car park.  Park away from school whenever possible and walk, scoot, cycle to school.
